Section 8 Opening
The North Adams Housing Authority hereby announces the opening of its Section 8 waiting list, effective Friday, September 22, 2017. Applications can be submitted from 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the Authority’s office at 150 Ashland Street, North Adams. Applicants must bring (their own photo copies) of birth certificates, social security cards and proof of income for all household members. Copies will not be made for you. All applications must be completed at time of submission in order to be accepted.
Preference will be given to applicants residing or employed in the City of North Adams and to residents or the locally employed who are homelessness through no fault of their own. Applicants must submit documentation in support of any preference claims.
All applications received September 22, 2017, will be sorted by preference and selected for the Public Housing waiting list by a random drawing. There is no advantage in submitting an application early in the day.
Applications already on the North Adams Housing Authority’s Public Housing waiting list must apply separately for the Section 8 Program but such application will not affect their position on the Public Housing waiting list.
Total annual household income must not exceed:
- 44,800 for 1 Person
- 51,200 for 2 People
- 57,600 for 3 People
- 64,000 for 4 People
