Section 8 Opening
The North Adams Housing Authority hereby announces the opening of its Section 8 waiting list, effective Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Applications can be made from 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Authority’s office at 150 Ashland Street, North Adams. Applicants must bring (their own photo copies) of birth certificates, social security cards and proof of income for all household members. Copies will not be made for you. All applications must be completed at time of application in order to be accepted.
Preference will be given to applicants residing or employed in the City of North Adams and to residents or the locally employed who are homeless or at risk of homelessness through no fault of their own. Applicants must submit documentation in support of any preference claims.
All applications received March 16, 2016, will be sorted by preference and selected for the waiting list by a random drawing. There is no advantage in submitting an application early in the day.
Applicants already on the North Adams Housing Authority’s Public Housing waiting list must apply separately for the Section 8 Program but such application will not affect their position on the public list.
Total annual household income must not exceed:
- 30,650 for 1 Person
- 35,000 for 2 People
- 39,400 for 3 People
- 43,750 for 4 People
- 47,250 for 5 People
- 50,750 for 6 People
- 54,250 for 7 People
- 57,750 for 8 People
