North Adams Housing Authority Section 8 Waiting List Opening Announcement

The North Adams Housing Authority (NAHA) is announcing the opening of its Section 8 waiting list, effective Tuesday, October 14th, 2025. Applications will be available from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the North Adams Housing Authority Community Center, located at:

150 Ashland Street, North Adams, MA 01247

Applications can also be completed online at:
Northadamsha.com on October 14^th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Important Information:

• Application Process:
  All applications completed fully and submitted on October 14th, 2025, will be sorted by preference and selected for the waiting list through a lottery drawing.
• Documents Needed:
  Applicants must provide the following documents for all household members:
• Photo ID
• Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• Proof of Income
• Verification of any preference being claimed.

Preferences for Selection:

• Preference #1: Applicants who live or work in North Adams, Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida, Monroe, New Ashford, Savoy, and Williamstown, and have been displaced through no fault of their own or as a result of domestic violence.
• Preference #2: Families who live or work in the same areas and are homeless or at risk of homelessness through no fault of their own.
• Preference #3: Families who live or work in the areas of North Adams, Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida, Monroe, New Ashford, Savoy, and Williamstown (no specific conditions).

Current Applicants:
If you are already on the North Adams Housing Authority Public Housing waiting list, you must apply separately for the Section 8 program. Applying for the Section 8 waiting list will not impact your position on the Public Housing waiting list.

Return Deadline for Applicants:
For applicants who were provided an application on October 14^th, please note that you have 14 days to submit a fully completed application. Applications received during this period will be processed based on the date and time of receipt. Last day original applications will be accepted will be Tuesday October 28^th, 2025.
