Annual income includes income from all sources, less $480.00 per minor child, $400.00 per elderly family, medical excess of 3% of income (elderly only) and unusual expense such as child care or care for a handicapped person where such care is necessary for a family to be employed.
The North Adams Housing Authority's subsidy standards provide for the smallest number of bedrooms necessary to house a family without overcrowding. They are consistent with HUD's Housing Quality Standards as they apply to space requirements. The Authority may, at its sole discretion, grant an exception to its subsidy standards by reason of age, sex, health, or relationship of family members or other personal circumstances.
